Image.InfoCards

The Image.InfoCards protocol allows you to add your copyright details inside any image without any type of visual impact.

Unlike digital watermarking, which only stores an ID code, the IIC system can store textual information, that travels along with the image itself, even outside your website or computer.

By accessing the Image.InfoCards data using any IIC-compliant software, anyone can get informed about the availability of your image, and you can also include a URL to a page on your site where you present your licensing terms, if you desire.

With the help of IIC Publisher (2), you embed a Copyright Card (1) in your image (3). After that, you can upload it (4) to your server (6).

When your image (5) is requested by another www user (8) through the internet (7) or another medium, it will keep its embeded cards (9) on the user's computer (8).Even when your image (9) is emailed, stored on optical or magnetic media, or if it just stays on the users HD (10), your embeded cards can be later read by any "IIC-aware" software (11).

The user gets informed about your image's copyright status (12), where he can also find a back link to your site's "licensing terms" webpage (13), if available. This will result in more exposure for your work and more ways to get a profitable licensing agreeement!

You can store your copyright information by applying the "Copyright Card" on your images. You can optionally add a "Business E-Card" with your contact information. To accomplish this, you just need the IIC Publisher software.

- Your copyright info is stored inside the image, not on a third-party webserver. No problems when images are off-line!
- Your complete info is stored, including a direct contact to you or your website, if necessary. Users can contact you, anywhere!
- If you are willing to sell or license your images, this is a good way to make contact for an agreement. Extra opportunities means extra income!

Note: Image.InfoCards is not a protection system. It is an information system. It does not prevent your images from being copied (nothing can, in fact), but allows the copies to carry your copyright and contact details.
